U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center

In our country, military history is the story of how we rose to independence. Since 1775, the United States Army has amassed its own collection of lessons and artifacts. However, this center offers more than exhibits, but lots of ways to learn. Visitors can see seasonal reenactments, lectures, and bronze sculptures as well.

Even if you aren’t a war history buff, you’ll find this museum fascinating. Make sure it’s on your itinerary for Cumberland County family fun.

The Oakes Museum of Natural History

The Oakes Museum of Natural History remains the leading authority in the area. Here, the center is home to 10,000 square feet of exhibits and 40,000 wildlife species. These aren’t any artifacts, though, but Smithsonian-quality pieces from the United States and Africa. School groups and younger children will also enjoy the surrounding woods.

Whether you love to learn or need a unique local experience, this is the one. Check out everything this museum has to offer you and your group.

Cumberland County Historical Society

There wouldn’t be history in the community without the Cumberland County Historical Society. This local group preserves, researches, and educated others in our local region. The center gets led by a diverse team of researchers in a variety of fields. They also maintain local and nationally registered historical sites throughout the area.

In addition to permanent and revolving exhibits, you can explore the Two Mile House, too. This lovely landmark is home to many wedding photos and family gatherings.

Rolls-Royce Foundation

Few vehicles have lasting style, appeal, and recognizability like a Rolls-Royce. That’s why a trip to the Rolls-Royce Foundation is the perfect stop for any gearhead. Here, visitors learn about the brand, as well as see their earliest models. The center has tons of Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles on display, as well as exhibits.

There are only two of these research centers on earth, and this is one. For an experience as rare as the cars themselves, be sure to visit here.

Appalachian Trail Museum

The Appalachian Trail is over 2,000 miles long and has gotten used for generations. Today, visitors can find out tons of information without hiking far. The Appalachian Trail Museum operates from the Old Mill, also a historical site. Together, they tell the tale of the country’s most well-known nature trail.

There are lots to discover at this local history center. For any missing landmarks, let Blackman Bail Bonds know.
