Milton S. Hershey | Chocolatier and Business Pioneer
Chocolate and candy weren’t always as easy to find or eat as they are now. Instead, they were luxury items that few people could afford, especially in the 1800s.
By the turn of the century, Hershey had the background, means, and know-how. He transformed a simple caramel facility into something closer to today’s chocolate factories.
Today, the company is still among the largest candy manufacturers in the world. Plus, his success can get seen in the many ways he gave back to the community.
Harry Burnett “H. B.” Reese
Although we know the name now, we almost didn’t due to the hard road traveled. Although the dairy manager-turned-confectionary had many starts, few positions stuck.
Reese started out working on Hershey’s dairy farms, most notably the Round Barn. Despite testing the first mechanical milking machines, the site ultimately closed down.
After his candy company failed, he returned to Hershey’s factory while making products at home. Finally, by 1928, he invented the peanut butter cup that everyone knows and loves.
Miss Peppermint | Entertainer and Singer
Miss Peppermint is best known for her stint on RuPaul’s Drag Race and Broadway. When she isn’t on the drag circuit or performing, she also self-releases music as well.
The actress occasionally appears on TV either in guest roles or in interviews. She has gotten featured in everything from crime dramas to late-night talk shows.
If that isn’t enough, she also keeps busy online and with music videos. It seems miss Peppermint always has a project in progress at every turn.
Chef Tell/ Friedman Paul Erhardt
You can’t mention TV chefs without talking about Chef Tell, AKA Friedman Paul Erhardt. The real-life inspiration for the Swedish Chef Muppet originally hails from Germany.
However, he became regularly featured on local TV shows such as Dialing for Dollars. After that, he received syndicated play from PM Magazine and guest spots.
Chef Tell never stopped writing cookbooks or ceased teaching others how to do so. He even worked as a local culinary professor before passing away in 2007.
