Rhoneymeade Arboretum & Sculpture Garden

Who said that you have to stay indoors to enjoy seeing art? At Rhoneymeade Arboretum & Sculpture Garden, you can take a scenic stroll surrounded by flowers. The Arboretum offers peaceful trails with over 25 species of trees. You can also enjoy about as many sculptures throughout the garden.

Finally, you can’t leave without completing the labyrinth, especially for those stuck inside. There’s only one path out, but luckily, it’s a peaceful tour surrounded by nature.

Thickhead Mountain Wild Area

Those seeking a no-frills outdoor hike will love Thickhead Mountain Wild Area. Here, you can trek several miles of natural trails throughout nearly 5,000 acres of land. It’s a serene trip any time of the year, but especially during autumn. You can see miles of red and gold leaves in the crisp mountain air.

The area also connects to several other nature preserves like Rothrock State Forest. Be sure to visit them all for a rustic weekend away with the family.

Lincoln Caverns and Whisper Rocks

Since 1930 the Lincoln Caverns and Whisper Rocks have mystified the area. Here, visitors tour natural crystal caves, as well as pan for gems. After walking underground for an hour, take a hiking trail above ground. You can easily make a day of your visit with onsite picnic pavilions.

This is a top tour for individuals, families, and group outings. See why generations of visitors continue to enjoy this natural attraction.

Isett Heritage Museum

There are antique collections, and there is the Isett Heritage Museum. As the largest memorabilia assortment in the community, there is always something unique to discover. Although you can walk through at your leisure, guided tours are recommended. Otherwise, you miss out on the historical significance of many of the items here.

Displays date back to the 1800s, and you can see a restored 1940s barn. Everything from colonial farming tools to cassette tapes can get discovered here.

Millbrook Marsh Nature Center

Our region is home to tons of marshland, especially at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center. Guests walk across wood boardwalks throughout lush trees, wetlands, and grasses, spotting wildlife while trekking. However, the park is popular for more than serene hiking and bird watching. There is an onsite classroom, wedding barn, and picnic available to rent for your group.

There are also seasonal programs and demonstrations taking place throughout the year. No matter when you expect visitors, be sure to bring them here during their stay.
